2050 University AveLiquido-Now open every weekend! Enjoy our new poolside…
Announced 2 days agoImpeccable. There's something decadent about staying in a hotel in your hometown, and while this particular Four Seasons isn't in San Francisco, it's close enough! We had an event there this past Thursday, up by their Liquido Pool Bar (that is another whole story!), and a few staffers decided to stay over night.
From checking in, to checking out, the hotel did not disappoint. I mean you read about luxury, but it's only in the experience that the details come out. My room was perfectly and tastefully appointed, and I felt I could have made this my temporary home for weeks on end, which is what I imagine some lucky business travelers get to do. If there was anything wrong, it was that I did not steal my robe.
At some point in the middle of the night, we ordered room service, and within seeming minutes, our food arrived with all the necessary garnishes.
The next morning, we gathered for coffee at their outside patio, quite a nice way to begin any morning.
One other thing, I know it was coincidence (or was it??), but my room number was actually my birthday day and month. I'd like to believe that somehow the Four Seasons Secret Police knew this.

WOOT! Judging from the pool and room I have to admit that the hotel is very nice. The decor is impeccable and decadent. It's like a nice, dark, warm cave that I find most inviting. It is odd that it's located right there by the highway and on the border of EPA...but I suppose that is the sign of the times.
From what I remember I do like their restaurant. It's very woody. I have a thing for wood. The bar is designed a little off but I can live with that. The rooms are nice and the tv is large and flat. Maybe I should have taken the robe too (it wasn't my room)??? The pool is small yet at the same time very....what's the word.....enticing. Especially at night with the different colors going on and the scheduled nightly events. It's fabulous.

I love all Four Seasons. Out of all places in Silicon Valley, they chose East Palo Alto to build a Four Seasons, how odd is that? But don't let it fool you, this is by far the best hotel to stay in Silicon valley. A 5 minutes drive to Stanford Uni, the Standford shopping center, & all the restaurants on the Uni strip. But if you stay here, no need to go out for food, they offer the best food here at Quattro & room service!
I came here again for my friend's wedding last week, the experience was impeccable. The service, the food, the setting were so perfect. This is 1 of the best weddings that I have been to. Everything was so perfect for my friends.
Note: A breakfast hot spot for venture capital powerhouse on Sandhill Road to chat about their upcomming deals!

The pre-summer Yelp event motivated me to get a room, party and go back to work the next mornin' lookin' like a squirrel-geek in a Data Center. I did it!
Thanks to the lovely Connie C. and staff of Four Seasons, guests were offered a competitive group rate. I packed, I worked, I parked, I checked-in and I conquered.
The room was fabulous, of an international five star quality. Mattress, linen, fluffy pillows, bathroom robes and an iPOD docking station. That was good!
Was it a Manhattan, London, Munich, Rome and Tokyo venue? Not quite, only because as I looked out of the top-to-ceiling windows, Hwy 101 stared back at me, in an almost taunting manner, like telling me, no matter how I try, I am a Silicon Valley geek!
Ok, I get it, so I quickly slipped into my gym clothes to checkout the gym.
Very small yet totally functional with top-line finishings. There were complimentary bottled H20, Mineral drinks, fruits and such. The treadmill was ok but a funny LCD tuned into a CFA or MBA's stock channel reminded me, I'm near Stanford!
While sweating and approaching mile 5, I notice the beautiful Yelp divas and Nish walking by through the sparkling glass mirrors.
Post-workout I enjoyed refreshing in the spa-like bathroom and thereafter welcoming my plus_one girlfriend, as we exchanged stories on the oscillation of work life, men and relationships, and later, one of us laughing on how absurd life can be.
Four Seasons Palo Alto, thank you for taking me briefly away from home.

Oh mah goooonesss! this is place is like a far getaway for my mind even if I'm still physically close to home. I felt like I was on a 5 day vacation even if it only lasted the weekend.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. You really can't ask for better service than at a Four Seasons Hotel, really.
Our room was off the hook! Being a business environment, they had a lot of accessibility to making it a professional yet home-y experience. And rates are mainly lower on the weekends. So if you're looking to spend some extra money on a nice relaxing night somewhere and not want to have to go far or to scenes with a crowd, head over to this hotel. You get a complementary newspaper of your choice in the morning, turn down service, freaken' L'Occitane products (sweetness).
We went to the pool at night where the weather was perfectly warm and the jacuzzi and pool's lights were changing colors. Pretty rad since there was also no one around, so my friends and I had the place all to ourselves.
Afterwards we hit up the Quattro restaurant to sample some appetizers and drinks (review on Quattro soon!). We eventually got to meet the restaurant manager who's a pretty awesome fellow and he was nice enough to chat with us and tell us a little bit about the restaurant. He was also nice enough to share his wine connoisseur knowledge and even let us taste some wine. (sigh when will I ever get to drink ice wine again!?) Not that this would happen all the time to anyone that comes in, but I think it just made our stay even greater that this happened and that i think there weren't many people at the time.
I think what made our stay extra nice was cause we're a talkative bunch and like to complement great service, hence the more great service we get back.
I will definitely come back here for a weekend again. :)
My parents came for a visit last month and I put them up at the Four Seasons. They room was amazing and the service was impeccable. I feared the freeway would be too noisy and my mom wouldn't sleep well but it was just fine. My parents really enjoyed their stay.
We stayed here the night we got married. We hadn't told the hotel that it was our wedding night when we made the reservation, but when we showed up and I was wearing my wedding dress, they immediately upgraded us to the nicest room they had available. They also sent up champaign and dark chocolate truffles. Very nice!
In the morning we ordered room service, but there were a few mistakes and they forgot some of the stuff we ordered. We mentioned this while checking out and they comped the entire room service bill.
The best thing about the room was the bed -- simply amazing. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.

I loved staying here! We got upgraded to a beautiful suite because our room wasn't ready when we got there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and treated us like royalty! When they found out we were staying there after our wedding, they sent up wine and cheese with a nice note. We can't wait to go back!!
Four Seasons = FABULOSITY (tm Flor D)
If you're looking for a luxurious place to stay on the Peninsula, this is it. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I have been with the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto. Smiling faces everywhere, no sense of pretentiousness anywhere, and your every need is quickly attended to. Every staff member I've encountered during my various visits has been extremely professional and hospitable. Who doesn't love getting the royal treatment?
The double room we stayed in was amazing. It was roomy (larger than the king rooms I saw), had the most comfortable feather beds, a huge plasma tv, and a gorgeous bathroom with L' Occitane products, a deep tub, separate shower and its own smaller tv.
Sounds fabulous, right? But wait, it's not just fabulous. It's all about FABULOSITY. How does it achieve fabulosity, you ask?
Start off your Friday or Saturday basking in the sun on the 3rd floor rooftop pool and doing some laps before heading into their beautiful spa. Get a massage treatment and let your muscles relax as you sit inside their eucalyptus steamroom. Then take a shower, change into your most fabulous poolside party attire, and head back to the pool, which is transformed into Liquido, and sip on some cocktails and nosh on sushi and bar bites.
Continue your evening downstairs at Quattro and have a wonderful dinner. Have a night cap at the bar next to the restaurant and chat it up with friendly guests and bartenders. Have several night caps and stumble back to your room.
Order a kobe burger, pizza and fries from room service. While you wait, take a bubble bath. Slip into one of their plush bathrobes and in no time, your food is brought into your room. Enjoy the amazing room service food (fries taste the best at 2am, right?) and pass out (girls: with your fabulous Shu Uemura lashes still on and Manolos dangling from your toesies.)
That, my friends, is how FABULOSITY is achieved at the Four Seasons.
(Ok, so Kimora Lee wrote a book about FABULOSITY, but sorry, Flor is WAY more fabulous than Kimora Lee.)

Nish and the yelpettes made the trek down south to the Four Seasons to throw a pool bash and have a slumber party in the suites above. I was surprised to find the Four Seasons is truly an oasis. The minute we walked in, we felt like we were on vacation, even though we were in our own backyard.
When we arrived, there were about 20 youngish peeps hanging out by the pool and soaking up the sun. With canopies all around for lounging and shade, and poolside bars, it felt more Los Angeles than Palo Alto. I'm definitely heading down there on a warm summer night to check out their Friday and Saturday parties.
Our double suites were hot-to-trot, with a feather beds, a huge flat screen TV, plush bathrobes, an insanely big jacuzzi bathtub and fab room service. Sigh... what more could one want? A spa. With a eucalyptus steam room, rain showers and the ultimate sensual treatment, you've achieved nirvana.
Plus, with yelpers in the pool, late night parties in the rooms and a certain few even ending up in the bathtub, the Four Seasons was more than accommodating to our "needs." I was expecting a business hotel. Conclusion? The Four Seasons is sort of like a mullet -- business in front, party in the back.

I came out here for a friend's wedding. It was a nice sunny day and the reception was in the hotel's restaurant.
Usually wedding reception food isn't top quality, because they're making so many at a time. Fish would usually be a bit dry and steak a bit rubbery. Beyond that, 'hotel food' is never really great stuff, is it?
The food was delicious. I had lamb. Yum. I love lamb. Lamb lamb lamb. Anyway, if they can make large quantities of food and still have it tasting very very good, then the food must be great when they don't have to make mass quantities.
After the reception we have an afterparty of sorts in one of the hotel rooms. Nice flat screen TV, terrific view with large windows, nice plush bed. I have no idea how much this place cost, but if you want a great hotel room, I'd recommend the Four Seasons.
Five stars cuz "hotel food" was high quality, and the rooms are beautiful.
UPDATE: Since this was for a specific event, I moved it over to the Elite Event review-y thing-y. BUT! I still stayed here (because puking out the side of my car isn't what you would call a great ending to the night), and was here past the event, so HAY! You'll find me here on a nice night at Liquido!
--------------------------
Since I was out of a bartending gig for not being Russian, I was free last night. Of course, I don't expect myself to stay home comatose so I can fall asleep at 8pm...so I came here!
I am really glad that I wore what I did--because this event was possibly the most fabulous thing I have ever attended. From the moment you go through the door, you have someone telling you that this other person will lead you up to the party. Then a person at the elevator. Then a person at the registration booth. Then people walking around with trays of delicious, beautifully presented food. Sushi. Mini burgers. Salads. Drinks. You name it, they have it. People were lounging around on the chic poolside chairs and couches--the water changed colours. The hot tub had a waterfall. Cabanas. It was, AMAZING.
Connie, Jessica, Nicole and Nish did an uber wonderful job of putting this event together. I won't lie--it was hard for me not to get up and model bathing suits too, but that's just me. Of course, tan bodies look better than ghostly white ones, so what the hell. I'll stick to being an audience member. HOWEVER, I did get my suit on at the end of the night with Carlos, Lauren and Victor for a little hot tub action. Then they kicked us out. Ehh...
When all was done with, we moved the party to the bar downstairs. There was a married couple at the bar sitting next to us, and the guy asked me what my name was. So of course, my attention turns to them. By far the NICEST people I have ever met. Ahh..the things you do when you're drunk. Like them saying they would pay me more if I was their assistant and me giving them my number. Then they bought me the most expensive glass of champagne and I ate some of their pizza. BTW the Four Seasons has amazing bar food, too.
After this I don't really remember. I do know that at one point I was hovering over a toilet seat, though, and Victor was being the best fiancee EVAR.
The next morning I walked out in my sweats and I Love Yelp shirt.
Because that's fuckin CLASSY.
Oh, I think this is a perfect place for the wedding. 08.08.08!

Southern California extravagance with a view of IKEA. That is what the Palo Alto Four Seasons embodies. The area outside of the lobby has a design reminiscent of Palm or Nokia, palm trees and fountains. This hotel has a very corporate feel so it seems that it would be perfect for that clientele. Has an uncozy corporate feel but is chock full of amenities and has impeccable service as you would expect from a Four Seasons.
The new pool bar Liquido is nice and with high walls concealing the 101 you easily forget that you are overlooking a quagmire of bumper to bumper traffic and the entry to the infamous East Palo Alto. The cabanas, shape of the pool and hot tub fountain all add to the cool factor of the bar. When the temperature rises I assume this will be an awesome hang out for out of town visitors and business travelers. Although for locals I dont see how this place serves any purpose.

Spa Day is always a great day. It gets even more points when it is a spa day to celebrate both my birthday and the birthday of my best friend.
We chose the Four Seasons because we figured that we would get better "in between treatments" pool time on the Peninsula than San Francisco. We both had great massages and facials....and a fantastic lunch poolside in between.
I drive by this Hotel all the time on the way to Redwood City and always wonder how it is inside and how it would be to stay there. When the Elite event for June was announced at the Four Seasons I looked into the room rates and it was pricey, pricey enough to keep me out. I don't mind spending cash on a good time, but $300 a night for a place to rest my head for a few hours is hard to justify.
A few days later, Connie sends out an email about a discounted room rate at $195 a night! YES!!!! That's an excellent rate, especially since the room comes with a Yelp Elite event with drinks and apps!
Rolling up to the Hotel I was nervous cause I'm not the richest looking guy and the Four Seasons is in my book a fancy hotel, but valet and the front desk treated me very well, even called me "Sir and Mister" LOL Checked in, got my keys and I'm off to the room.
The room was on the small side, but functionality of the stuff in the room was well planned. The Bose alarm clock even had a jack for an iPod! There was a 40" LCD in front of the bed and a smaller 10" LCD in the bathroom at the sinks.
The King sized bed in the room was very nice! Soft and firm in all the right ways and the bedding was also of good quality. I need this stuff for home and you can actually purchase a bed from them too! There was a list in the bathroom broken down by size and price. Dude...expensive. $2,500 is what it cost for a King, we have a Queen at home and I don't want to get the same sized bed so to move up would be $2,500....I'll get it later....much later...like when I win the Lottery or somethin.
Before the event me and the wife hit up Quattro downstairs for snacks and drinks. The staff was very nice and attentive and the Calamari was pretty good. We also went here after the Yelp event because we didn't roll with the other folks to 99 Chicken. I'm glad we did too, but that's a whole different review.
Overall if I had the means, I'd come back for sure! The hotel is very nice, the room was comfortable, the Staff was cool and the food was yummy!

"Oooh, naked hotel... Can you see any naked people???"
Of course it's juvenile but that's what we think when we drive by the hotel on 101... With an entire side of glass windows facing the freeway, how could you not ogle the glass facade and wonder?
Anyway, last week, my husband and I had a chance to see the hotel from the inside. We attended the lovely-chic-amazing Yelp elite event and had a blast.
Not only were we escorted through the beautiful halls of the hotel from the entrance, we were met on the 3rd floor where the pool is by another employee, who brought us to the pool area. The staff is definitely well-trained - polite, friendly, and helpful.
If you're thinking private exclusive pool party, this is definitely the spot. We lounged by the pool on the lounge chairs and simply chilaxed... There was no freeway noise... no reminder of the hustle and bustle of the outside world... no worries. Classy.

Had a great time at the Yelp Event, thanks Connie C!
Tasty drinks and food to go with the posh set up by the pool. Very well done! The 4 Seasons was very accomodating and made the event feel "elite" to say the least.
Would definitely recommend an Orange Lantern cocktail by the pool for a chill night out at the 4 Seasons with some frends..

Hot mamma! This place is awesome!
Nevermind the fact that it's a five-star hotel in a town like Palo Alto, this hotel really shines.
+2 stars for the staff not laughing in our faces when we stumbled in at 3AM for a potty break and ended up asking for a room for the night. And by night, I mean the next 8 hours or so.
+2 stars for a super-comfortable bed. words can't describe how nice it is to roll into a bed that's well-made, has ample pillows and is *just* the right firmness.
+1 star for curtains that close well enough that they shut out nearly all light. It was especially nice when we woke up at the crack of 11:45 the next day..still buzzed.

Hello, my name is Jessica, and I'm a Spa addict.
And sometimes the only place that will satisfy my craving is here in the EPA...shocker.
Let's not go into the fact that you can indulge in the steam, showers (with rainbars! yay!) tea, dried fruit and plush robes all for a $35 eyebrow wax, I love the service! Sometimes there's a lazy naive college student behind the counter...but who cares? The technicians are always spot on. I've had some of the best massages, pedicures, waxing...anything here! I've been all around the world (Okinawa, Tokyo, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Mexico, Hawaii...etc. etc.) checking out places to go and this place rocks.
It is a little small and doesn't have all the amenities that some do, but the service and skill of the massuese(r)s, estheticians, and nail technicians is top knotch!
Came here for an event and it's such a professional, classy, and attractive hotel with a great vibe. When inside this hotel, you would never imagine that you're in East Palo Alto, one of the former murder capitals of the U.S.. They've done a great job of fixing up this area on the "other" side of the 101 and putting all these nice office buildings and the Four Seasons hotel so conveniently off the highway.
Great place to have drinks and meet up with business assciates or for a more classy get together with friends.
Bottom line: Probably my favorite hotel in the Valley for events and business get togethers.

My family went to the Four Seasons when it first opened for our Christmas meal. It was so unexpected to actually enjoy hotel food on Christmas. Everything that was served was amazing. We got to pick a salad, an appetizer, and our main meal from a stunning variety of items. Yes, each person got to pick their own meals. It has been awhile now so I cannot remember what I had but I can remember the quality and taste was divine. For dessert they had the bar lined up with tasty treats. Surprisingly, the dessert was the worst part of the meal.
I have not stayed in the hotel so I cannot comment on that but I can say coming here for a holiday meal will not disappoint anyone.

Palo Alto now has the best alternative bar to its downtown! The best part is that it has Four Seasons service that can't be beat, and the setting is cozy and upbeat. Makes you want to book a room for the night!

3.5 stars, really.
I liked the property, did not like the view of 101. Ok, so there's not too much they can do about that now, but, errr....they kind of knew that the freeway was gonna be right there out the window when they started building the place, no?
3 good things separated this place from other places I've been to:
1) The freshness of the linens. No CCC here--they wash their duvets.
2) When you ask "how are you" to the staff, they respond with "well" instead of the more common, but less grammatically correct, "good."
3) The elevators were prompt--even on the 8th floor you press a button and the door opens.
3 Bad things that separated the Four Seasons from other pukka hotels I've been to:
1) The kids--fucking everywhere. In the pool, in the bar, in the elevators, in the hallways, in the hot tub jumping around. WTF.
2) The view. The side we were on was nice, but the other side was 101 and Ikea--yuck! If you want to feel like you're somewhere else, this isn't the place to do it. Who wants to be reminded of the commute?
3) The artwork--oh lord, terrible...absolutely terrible stuff in the rooms and in the hallways.
3 Things that were about the same as any other nice hotel:
1) The bar staff didn't seem to enjoy their chosen occupation (though the cranberry caipirinha was damn good).
2) The noise. Some dude was hacking away at 4:30 am in a room nearby and you could hear every single gurgle. Yuck.
3) Amenities. Flat screen TV w/$15.99 movies, $12 2oz bottles of alcohol etc. etc.
Overall, I'd say the Joie de Vivre hotels are nicer.
Oh--the food--we didn't have any here. After reading the reviews of Quattro we decided to head elsewhere. Twas a good thing, as we walked by some pretty gross looking roomservice-food someone had left outside their room. It looked like an egg and pineapple pizza. The people who ordered it didn't even TOUCH it--not one bite. From the way it looked I wouldn't blame 'em. I should have taken a picture.
Um, I don't understand a spa that provides you with a pair of disposable, fabric hotel slippers instead of with rubber flip-flops. How are you supposed to shower with those?
Disappointing. No sauna or anything. The "quiet room"/waiting area is a dinky little room with two chairs. The locker room was equally small and uncomfortable given that everyone is crammed together.
Also, my swedish massage was rather unrefined. When done properly, one shouldn't feel sore afterwards!
Save your money and go to Burke Williams or somewhere else.
This hotel is so beautiful! A great location right off highway 101 located between San Jose Airport and San Francisco Airport.
This is a Four Seasons and the service is perfect.
I recently meet some friends here for drinks after work. The bar area is very attractive and comfortable the fireplace is great. I can't wait to eat in the restaurant.
This hotel is AWESOME.
It was 3am...I was driving back home from a night of partying in San Francisco...NOT a fun drive. Oh great, I'm halfway home on 101 and I need to go to the bathroom BADLY. Hmm....I'm nearing the University Ave exit and notice the Four Seasons hotel...I figure it would be a nice place to use the restroom hahah.
As we are driving up to the hotel, we are laughing at the fact that I'm stopping at the Four Seasons to handle my business...then we decide, hey...what the heck...let's just stay here.
Valet. Bathroom. Check-in. Passed out in bed 10 minutes later. HAHA. I did get the 1pm late check out...and MAN...let me tell you...the bed is INCREDIBLY LUXURIOUS AND FULL OF HEAVENLY GOODNESS. Yes, I know that doesn't make sense to you right now...but you *will* understand if you stay there. The bathroom is beautiful with a shower and separate bath. There is a flat screen TV in the bathroom and a large flat screen in the bedroom. They have wonderful robes and soft, comfy slippers too.
I would definitely come back here again...it was a great experience...even though I spent most of it asleep.

I met up with some friends at the bar for a pre Christmas cocktail and had a great experience. Our waitress Katie greeted us with a smile and brought over a complimentary dish of crackers and nice variety of olives.
The bar itself is attractive, comfortable and has a cool fireplace with crystals of glass. It gets a little warm right in front of it but I'll never complain about the heat. I could have stayed there all night but when the rest of our party arrived and a larger table opened up Katie helped us move to that table. She was very attentive and when she stepped away for a break the bartender actually came to our table without any kind of prompting by us to take another order.
Great place for a first "match" date as the seating is comfortable and cozy and the ambience is perfect. Not too close to the table next to you so you can can still have a fairly private conversation.
What a pleasant stay.
The good:
-The bed!!! So comfy, the sheets were so crisp, and the duvet was so clean. Heaven!
-The bathroom: Deep, luxurious tub, nicely sized shower, and plenty of hot water. I filled that tub and watched tv while I soaked.
-L'Occitane bath products, need I say more?
-The staff is the restaurant are friendly, helpful, and professional. We special ordered our breakfast and they didn't bat an eye at our requests. And everything showed up exactly as requested.
The annoying:
-$12 self parking fee, that wasn't disclosed during booking on the website or when they gave me the parking pass. Not that it's a lot, but when it isn't mentioned it's a surprise.
-The minibar that registers everything as soon as you remove it, so we had $20 with of sodas charged to our bill because we wanted to put a bottle of water in to chill. They took it off the bill the next morning, but it was still a hassle.
-the TV only has a local basic cable feed, so there's not much on.
Overall, it was a nice enough stay. There was quite the party going on in the bar around midnight, but the hotel itself was very quiet.
Don't let the fact that it's in EPA scare you away. It is still a Four Seasons in every way. They can really accommodate to any kind of group and event. I recently went there for a Stanford Alumni party and had a blast. You completely forget that you are right next to 101!

I finally got to meet Archie last night and he is as funny as he is on Yelp.
We met at a shoe debut for a designer friend of his. The shoes were beautiful, all Italian made, all very elegant and something I can see Nordy's or Neiman Marcus carrying soon................
But what helped this designer's debut was the hotel: it provided the perfect backdrop for the party. Now this is one of the few times that I write or review a place without really having gotten the full experience of what this place has to offer. But I am told that the Four Seasons Hotel here, in the Silicon Valley is in need of more exposure and is trying really hard to draw people in. So maybe people will read this review and now know about it's existence.
So, it is in East Palo Alto, but not in the part of EPA where you would normally find that you walk quickly and with your purse clutched tightly to yourself. No, it's in a nice part to be honest. The hotel itself is in the middle of an office complex so though it's on an off road, and not in the heart of the hustle and bustle it is in a quiet area. You can see it though from Highway 101.
I didn't get the chance to see any rooms. I mostly went through the lobby, the elevators, and to the third floor where the pool was hosting the party.
It was quite elegant. A small rectangular shaped pool surrounded by cabanas. Staff was serving little appetizers and champagne. There was a table set up of sodas and water and it was quite a enticing station for those that had to drive or didn't feel like drinking. The staff was friendly and made sure our glasses weren't ever empty.
Surrounding the pool are office buildings which makes you feel like you are extra special, hanging out by a pretty pool while everyone else is working. Or maybe that was just me.
Anyway, just hearing the name the Four Seasons already conjures up certain expectations and images. And if you come here, I think that you would not be disappointed. For the location, I would think this would be the ideal place for someone on business, in the area or for locals that would like to dine or drink in an elegant setting. There is also a spa, and I am sure it's standards are impeccable as are the hotels.
Now that I'm aware of it's existence I would definitely suggest it to people. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Wonder how the spa is.

Lovely in every way -- even the price. We booked a special $215 weekend rate... and that's not a typo!
The staff were all top-notch, not a snooty one among them. The valets would literally RUN to open the door (of our dirty, 10-year-old car, hee hee) and offer us bottled water whenever we left the hotel.
Our room was stylish and very comfortable, even though we'd reserved the lowest room category. (I spend 10+ nights a year in 4- and 5-star hotels, so I'm not easily impressed.) Amazingly cozy bed, a bathroom bigger than many hotel rooms, with separate shower and bath, double-sink vanity, a full-size lighted closet, and a special alcove for your suitcase.
As you'd expect in Silicon Valley, there's a flat-screen TV, plenty of space (and hookups) for your laptop, and a Bose clock-radio with an iPod connection.

This is a very nice BUSINESS hotel and if you can get a good rate here it is worth the stay. Having said that know that this is probably one of the strangest 4 seasons properties that I have stayed at. The only real reason to stay here is for business (I came here for a meeting). The view is of a large furniture store and adjacent office buildings and warehouses. The room are quite sterile but nice, a little on the small side. The location is just off the 101 and the surrounding area is basically urban and sketchy. I upgraded to a suite for only a slight bump in my rate (the place was empty) and found it to be only OK. Small pool and work out area. Spa was nice but also small. Steam room didn't work during my stay. Room service food was excellent, probably the best thing about the stay.

Returned here for biz again. Room wasn't ready at 5pm so they upgraded me to a suite. Room # 824. All I can say is WOW! If you have like a Grand sitting around and want to stay some place special well this is for you. Living Rm, massive bedroom, 2 bathrooms, HDTV's everywhere, automatic curtains, prob 1500 square feet, dinning room table seats 12, kitchen area with private entrance, door camaras, surround sound everywhere. The only problem was that as I sat there playing my music and watching HD movies the neighbors called security to complain about the noise. It would be a cool room to rent to have a party or meeting but it seems the sound proofing could be better (my music wasn't that loud).
Four Seasons = quality, luxury and service.
Service attendants are attentive and professional. Rooms start at $275/nt. The standard rooms are about 400 square feet. Fairly small.
The only rooms with a whirlpool spa are only available in the suites.
I do like that they don't charge for fitness center use. All the cardio machines have television screens replacing the traditional consoles. Very cool. No more neck strain!
Spa service are available with 60 min massages starting at $140. Pretty pricey in my opinion.
Pool area is pretty small. Consists of a pool, jacuzzi, and cabanas with small flat screens. Poolside service is essential. Weird aspect: they have workout equipment outside too.
More of a biz hotel, rates are significantly higher on the weekdays, than weekends.
Tranquility is difficult to find when it's located right off the 101. Just short of luxury, I think it's a nice escape from reality, when you don't want to drive into the city or jet set out of town.
Ok, so it's a friend's birthday, and we're not really so much into the clubbing scene or loud music bar/dancing scene. We just want a nice place where we can get a drink and sit and chat after dinner. We tried Santana Row, and it was way too pretentious. Then we tried Castro Street in Mtn View, and discovered that it has turned from cute casual pub atmosphere to loud music and clubbing bar atmosphere.
Finally my friend suggests going to the Four Seasons. The bar location was perfect. It was beautiful, and there were plenty of comfortable places to sit. There was this beautiful indoor fireplace that faced floor to ceiling glass. We expected the drinks to be expensive and they were, but it was just a chill place to talk and catch up. Not necessarily a place to pick up on people.
Also when we were there, there was a 10 year reunion of Stanford Alumni hanging out at the bar. Thus bringing a nice mix of people to the location, in what might normally have been a dead bar. (Not sure what it's like on a non-reunion night).

This place, like all Four Seasons, is beautiful. The rooms are great. The facility is immaculate. Somehow, even the view of highway 101 looks nice when viewed through the window in my Four Seasons room.
There is an important flaw, though, that I'm surprised Four Seasons management has not addressed. Cell phones don't seem to get any reception on the property. That, alone, brings down what would otherwise be an obvious 5-star rating to just 4-stars. And for the record, I use Verizon Wireless, not some rinky-dink carrier.

Service is very high quality for Silicon Valley.
The restaurant is very reasonably priced for a full eating experience.
Then there are the details: innumerable!
My fiance took me to the hotel for our 1 year anniversary. I've been travelling a lot so I really did not want to go too far from home. We live in downtown Palo Alto. The service was great. The room was really beautiful. The bed was super comfy. I loved the 2 big plasma TVs. I also love the large bath tub. The Spa is nice, not as nice as Burke Williams or Claremont. The massage was a nice strong Swedish massage. I could have used another hour...
